Taping & Finishing

Level 1 through Level 5 finishes, ready for paint

Free EstimateUtah · Idaho · Wyoming

Taping is the trade that decides whether a wall looks built or looks finished. Compound goes on in coats, not in one pass: tape embedded in the seam, a fill coat to bury it, a skim to feather the edges out wide, and sanding between coats so nothing shows through the paint. We finish to the level the job calls for — a Level 2 above a ceiling grid where nobody will see it, a Level 5 skim on a wall that will take gloss paint or raking window light. Corners, bullnose and off-angles included, and we leave the site swept.

Our Process

1

Prep

Fasteners checked, gaps filled and the room masked before any compound goes on.

2

Tape

Tape is embedded in every seam and corner and left to dry properly.

3

Coat

Fill and skim coats go on wide, each sanded back before the next.

4

Light Check

We run a work light along the wall to catch anything paint would reveal.
